Domestic Violence Legal Advice Clinic

The Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project (MVLP) is sponsoring a free Expungement Workshop to assist low income residents with their legal needs. The workshop is scheduled for Thursday, October 19, 2017, 6:00 p.m., at Hinds Community College Jackson-ATC Campus (3925 Sunset Drive, Jackson, MS 39213) in the Bivins Technical Building, Room 155. Principles, Practices & Philanthropy Forum

MVLP is partnering with the Mississippi Center for Nonprofit to host three legal advice clinics for nonprofit organizations at the Principles, Practices & Philanthropy Forum. The free legal advice clinic will provide information on tax, labor and employment, and board compliance. The forums will be in Gulfport, Jackson and Meridian. MVLP Pro Bono Awards Dinner and 35th Anniversary Toast

MVLP recognized attorneys, law firms and law organizations throughout Mississippi who have been actively involved in delivering pro bono services to low-income individuals with civil matters at MVLP 35th Celebration and Pro Bono Awards Dinner, which was held on September 14, 2017 at the Old Capitol Inn (226 North Street, Jackson). The annual dinner helps to support MVLP’s mission to enable volunteer attorneys to provide equal access to justice for Mississippians of limited means through high quality pro bono legal assistance. This year, MVLP celebrated 35 years of changing lives and creating opportunities while advancing justice.
