Upcoming Clinic

MVLP in partnership with Baker Donelson is hosting a free Pro Se Legal Clinic on June 16 in Jackson, MS. The purpose of this clinic is to assist low income Mississippi residents with their legal matters. This legal service will provide individuals with legal advice and court documents prepared by licensed Mississippi attorneys on the following matters: Uncontested Guardianship; Emancipation; Irreconcilable Differences Divorce (No Fault Divorce); Child Support Modification; and Expungement for misdemeanors only. Participants will also receive instructions on how to represent themselves in court. The family law legal clinic is free to the participant. However, other fees such as filing fees and court costs may be required. The individual must be eligible to receive this assistance based on his or her income. 2017 Pro Bono Awards Dinner

MVLP 35th Celebration and Pro Bono Awards Dinner MVLP will recognize attorneys, law firms and law organizations throughout Mississippi who have been actively involved in delivering pro bono services to low-income individuals with civil matters at MVLP 35th Celebration and Pro Bono Awards Dinner on September 14, 2017 at the Old Capitol Inn (226 North Street, Jackson). The event will start with a reception at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. The annual dinner helps to support MVLP’s mission to enable volunteer attorneys to provide equal access to justice for Mississippians of limited means through high quality pro bono legal assistance. This year, MVLP is celebrating 35 years of changing lives and creating opportunities while advancing justice.
