Are you a student interested in serving your community? Are you looking for a chance to gain practical experience in a legal environment?
MVLP invites applications from law students to volunteer during the academic year and summer recess periods. MVLP works with students to meet fellowship application deadlines at their law schools or with other funders, and we can work with the school to provide course credit where appropriate.
Student volunteers have an opportunity to gain practical legal skills while helping Mississippi’s low income communities. Among other things, student volunteers help MVLP with the following: client interviews and intakes, client meetings, legal research and writing, planning CLE seminars and legal clinics and administrative tasks.
