MVLP offers attorneys a wide range of volunteer opportunities. Most attorneys donate their time by providing advice at a legal clinic or pro bono representation to a MVLP client. Our case list offers a wide range of litigation and transactional opportunities. In addition to pro bono representation, attorneys can participate in an MVLP legal clinic, assist in legal trainings, serve as mentor attorneys, or volunteer at the MVLP office.
Pro Bono Attorney Guide: MVLP is pleased to provide this guide as a resource for attorneys who handle cases for the organization. The Guide contains general information about MVLP and information and materials that are specific to case referral process.
Handle Your Pro Bono Cases Through MVLP
MVLP encourages attorneys who are representing clients pro bono with family law matters to handle those cases through MVLP. MVLP’s staff will conduct intakes, collect supporting documentation and otherwise work up clients’ files to save attorneys precious time and resources. MVLP is a statewide organization so attorneys throughout Mississippi are asked to take advantage of this helpful way to manage their pro bono caseloads and keep track of their pro bono hours.
Partner With MVLP On A Pro Se Legal Clinic In Your Community
MVLP encourages attorneys to partner with us to bring Pro Se Legal Clinics to their communities. Individuals who participate in these clinics can have documents drafted in the following areas: child custody, child support, divorce, visitation, guardianships, adoptions and other domestic matters. MVLP will help recruit local attorneys, ensure CLE credit to the attorneys who attend, provide malpractice liability coverage for the attorneys and provide form pleadings to the volunteer attorneys.
For information on how you can handle a pro bono case or participate in or host a clinic with MVLP, contact Gayla Carpenter-Sanders, Executive Director/General Counsel, at email@example.com or 601-960-9577.
